Mmmm...wasabi!

These are Tidepool Socks (Pattern by Mary Heather Cogar...available as a free download on Ravelry).  The yarn is Shibuiknits Sock in "Wasabi" of course...a lovely birthday gift from Lauren (aka Grump).  This is the second time I've knit this pattern and it is one I will most likely do again...I tend to love socks that have an overall textured pattern rather than complex cables or lace...and the picot cuff is really fun to do.  Anyway, thought I'd finally post these because Lauren hasn't seen them yet and I'll be seeing her this weekend.  More soon, Frump

put a bird on it gauntlets

inspired by frump's sweater and a fluffy knot of stash yarn haunting the abysmal depths of my yarn bins, i churned out a couple of short gauntlets with a disgruntled owl perched atop each wrist. i plan to add some french knot or button eyes... but for now i'm happy with how quickly they knitted up with a bulky weight yarn and that i was able to get 2 out of that pesky stash.

O W L S by Frump

Dear Readers,
Hi.  I've decided to kick off these co-blogging escapades with a finished knitting object...O W L S by Kate Davies!!!  This has been knitted up for about two months now, but I finally sewed the eyes on this evening during a thunderstorm.  In true "frump" fashion, I am wearing a wrinkled skirt and somewhat disheveled schoolmarm bun in front of a storm-soaked, fraying quilt that I've had since college.  I really really love the sweater...I really do...it's like blue velvety goodness on a cool mountain evening.  The yarn is one of my favorites...the price, saturated color and buttery softness are all just right in my opinion.  It's Bulky Merino from handpaintedyarn.com and I've got another batch of it in a gorgeous greyish pink (the actual color is called Pearl Ten) that will end up as another "Sedum" sometime soon.  I usually take notes on modifications on my Ravelry projects (theSongknitter) page, so here's the link.  Look for an "O W L S" inspired accessory from my co-blogger in crime sometime soon...for now, back to my 3:00 am toasted cheese sandwich cause I can't sleep!

Love,
Frump
